2019 PFL Scholarship Winner, Haley Palmer

Thank you to Haley Palmer, 2019 PFL Scholarship winner, for providing this blog post.

Haley Palmer attended Pope High School. She was a cheerleader for ten years and cheered for Pope through middle and high school.  Football is her favorite sport, so she especially loved cheering on the Greyhounds under the Friday night lights. During her junior and senior years, Haley was a mentor and coach in the Pope Jr. Cheer program.

In addition to cheer, Haley was involved in Interact Club, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also served on the leadership team for FCA.

Outside of school, Haley was very involved in her church: Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.  She was an active member of the student ministry and served as a worship leader in Kids’ Church.  Her favorite activity at JFBC was the student choir. She serves on the leadership team for high school choir and volunteers weekly in middle school choir as well. For two spring breaks, she was a leader on middle school choir tour. Finally, Haley served as a leader for middle school girls’ retreats and Wednesday night activities.

In the fall, Haley began college at Mississippi State University. She is now majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. Good luck to Haley as she begins her second semester of freshman year in Hattiesburg!
