Helping Industry Make Strides to Improve Perceptions About Roadway Safety
According to various studies by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), private cars are responsible for the majority of truck crashes (somewhere between 85-91%) yet the perception among drivers is that commercial vehicles are dangerous and almost always at fault. Even with the support of national and federal agencies, the transportation industry bears the brunt of a misappropriated reputation of fault for vehicle incidents.
Industry Partners in Education
The Lutzie 43 Foundation partners with federal, state and local transportation agencies to help them achieve their goals of reducing roadway accidents attributed to distracted, impaired and unsafe driving through delivery of their Safe Driving Summits.
Production of these summits is a significant effort that depends largely on the contributions and in-kind donations of partners from corporations and the transportation industry. Volunteers are needed for delivery of summit breakout sessions and to bring actual commercial vehicles to the schools and universities to aid in the impact of our message.
