Everything You Need to Know Before the Sixth Annual Virtual Road Race
The Lutzie 43 Foundation is excited to host the sixth annual and first all-virtual Road Race the weekend of August 1. The Road Race is special to the Lutzie 43 Foundation and Lutzenkirchen family, as it was one of the first events the foundation hosted shortly after Philip’s passing in 2014. The Road Race is an opportunity for the community and supporters to come together virtually as a community and remember Philip’s legacy, fellowship, and character. Here is everything you need to know before the Road Race!
This year’s event features a virtual 5k that can be done from anywhere around the world. All you need to do is register to receive your official Road Race t-shirt and hit the streets sometime during the weekend of August 1.
You can even support the Lutzie 43 Foundation without running! Sign up to be part of the fun by registering to fundraise for the foundation. The top three fundraisers win a prize!
Registration closes July 31 at midnight. Register before Sunday, July 26 to ensure we have time to send you your Road Race t-shirt.
Claim your personal fundraising page
Once you register, you will receive an email from the Lutzie 43 Foundation containing the link to your personal fundraising page. After you claim your page, you can create and personalize your page, add a picture, your reason for supporting the Lutzie 43 Foundation, and more. From there, share your page on social media or in emails to your friends and family, along with a description of why you support the foundation, encouraging them to make a donation. Any donation, big or small, will make an impact and help save and change lives.
Virtual Team Runs
During the weekend of August 1, supporters of the foundation will be running in memory of Philip from all across the country. There are virtual team runs being hosted in Birmingham, Montgomery, Chicago, Indianapolis, San Diego, Miami, Houston, and more! Live in one of these areas? Register for the virtual run in your location! If you’d like to start a virtual run where you are, email us at email@example.com to let us know. These runs will still be socially distant runs, but will give runners the chance to virtually connect with other Lutzie 43 supporters in their community. Share pictures from your virtual run by using the #LutzieRoadRace to be featured on social media.
How to Stay Connected
We want to see you on race weekend and we’d love to know where you’re running from! During the weekend of August 1, go to @Lutzie43 on Instagram and click the Face Filters button to be able to use any of our fun Road Race face filters. Snap a pic and share it to your page or Instagram story, but be sure to tag @Lutzie43 so we can see!
Thank you for your support and we are looking forward to seeing your pictures from your virtual run during the weekend of August 1.
